Ok so it wasn’t the trainwreck I expected. When I found out that Phil Gordon was being replaced by Phil Helmuth I cringed. I figured I could have 2hrs (1.5 with dvr) back each week if it was as bad as I expected. It wasn’t. Since they are in a very different location and the full on charity drive aspect of the show things are obviously different.

I’m still forming my opinion though and over the last year or so I have come to really despise Phil H. I did actually read his book on poker strategy and got alot out of it. I didn’t see that he was too self grandios like most of the reviewers had commented. Since then I have seen his antics and have grown oh so very tired of his tirades and incessant childish whiny BS. … and that is being kind.

I find that I am rooting against him and I loved how in High Stakes poker they just went after him and beat the crap out of him. It was interesting to see how other ‘professionals’ handled what were truly bad beats not just bad play. They took it in the spirit of the game. It’s going to happen does happen and you just move on and focus on making good decisions. Well unless your Phil H.

And WTF was BRAVO thinking putting it directly against WPT do they really want it to fail? Fortunately it is on 2x that night well and a dozen more during the week so hurah for dvr …

The jury is still out but I think they should force Phil to put on the hat and glasses .. What about you?
